Necessities: food, water, cell phone

The Pew Research Center recently released the results of a survey where Americans were asked what they could not live without.

I have four of those things and still feeling entirely luxurious...
and I don't want to sound smug but its a jaw dropper and a clue as to why those combustable energy boys are busy with their lobbies.

And if I could set up my lap top on this puppy, I'd give up my washing machine. Build it if you can.

Honestly, I could do without about half the items on the list. I wouldn't want to, but I could. Thought provoking - thanks!

Where did you find the great washing machine pic? Do you have a link to plans?

I'm not hurting for the "luxury" items but the ones I'd miss are the computer and the internet. Let's hope we don't find ourselves in the west without any of these items as I think all hell would break loose within a very short period of time!

What an amazing DIY project! An excellent way to combine loosing weight with not doing domestic work :)

Yeah, rosengeranium (nice name) ...I wss day dreaming doing the chores this afternoon about opening a laundry mat, my own little beautiful laundrette aka pedel powered. There could be cute baristas on their own units serving up the chickory lattes... I'd be pedelling the amp for the band. ya baby. I think we need a bit of hell to break loose in the west.
